Loved by Amun, ..., son of Bastet

Petubastis II. , Also Padibastet II. , Ruled according to Aidan Dodson and Dyan Hilton at least in the years around 743 to 733 BC. BC ( third intermediate period ) as ruler of Tanis . Jürgen von Beckerath locates this Petubastis II in the reign of Pije , the second king of the 25th dynasty , and suggests a reign from around 736 to 731 BC. BC before. The exact length of the reign of Petubastis II is not certain.

Possibly Petubastis II was the son of Auput II and Gaufürst in Athribis , since in the list of princes of Pije next to Osorkon IV and Bakennefi II a Padiaset is named as "Prince of Athribis". Jürgen von Beckerath refers to the custom that the lower Egyptian princes carried the addition of son of Bastet ( sa-Bastet ) instead of the Upper Egyptian form of the name Son of Isis ( sa-aset ) .

In the demotic story The battle for the armor of Inaros is reported by Inaros I , who as the appointed prince of Athribis genealogically “the son of Bakennefi III. and grandson of Petubastis ”.
