Rectory in Bad Wörishofen

The rectory in the town of Bad Wörishofen in the Unterallgäu district ( Bavaria ) is a listed building. The rectory burned down in 1587 and fell into disrepair again in 1770. For this reason, the new building took place in the late 18th century, at least after 1774. A renovation took place in 1966/67.

Building description

The new building in the late 18th century was carried out according to cost estimates by master mason Johann Georg Ege and master carpenter Johann Hörmann, both from Türkheim . The building is located immediately north of the parish church of St. Justina . The western gable side of the two-story saddle roof structure consists of five window axes. To compensate for the fact that the street is lower on this side, a basement with small arched windows runs under the row of windows. A copper memorial plaque is attached to the west between the two floors. It contains a portrait medallion of Sebastian Kneipp and the inscription 1881 1897 Pastor Kneipp lived and worked in this house. The signature X. ABT, MINDELHEIM can be seen on the lower right side .

washroom

To the north of the rectory there is a laundry room that Sebastian Kneipp used from 1881 for his cold water applications. The laundry room is a small, two-story rectangular building with a hipped roof . In the early 20th century, the building was extended. The inside consists of a square and vaulted room with two stitch caps.
