The classicist Protestant parish church

The Evangelical Lutheran Parish Church in Allershausen (Upper Bavaria) is the ecclesiastical and structural center of the Oberallershausen settlement. The church was built in 1837 in the classicism style. Together with the Protestant rectory and the Protestant school house, it forms a protected ensemble that can be found in the list of architectural monuments in Allershausen .

The church was built by Protestant immigrants from the Rhine district , who were settled at the beginning of the 19th century by Maximilian I Joseph (Bavaria) to cultivate the moss landscape north of Munich . With the construction of the church, one of the first Protestant parishes in old Bavaria came into being . On April 10, 1879 the vicariate was elevated to a parish .

The church is located at the western end of the narrow Dorfgasse in Oberallershausen. A modest building with simple classicist elements was erected over a cross-shaped floor plan, in which the thrifty spirit of the settlers is clearly recognizable. A walled cemetery adjoins it at the side.

Today the parish has around 2,700 members.
