Aiterbach Castle - a baroque castle is being renovated

The Aiterbach Castle is a former Hofmarkschloss and stands on the western outskirts of Aiterbach in the town of Allershausen ( Upper Bavaria ).

The castle is a small, two-story plastered building with a mansard roof . It was built in 1711 (aaS 1788) by Joseph Adolph Freiherr von Hörwarth , the owner of the Hofmark Aiterbach, in the Baroque style. The building replaced an old castle on a tower hill outside the village, which Hörwarth had demolished.

It remained the seat of the Hofmark until 1817. After its dissolution, Karl von Pellet was allowed to set up a second class patrimonial court , which was dissolved after Karl von Pellets' death in 1835.

Today the listed castle is privately owned and cannot be visited. It is a protected monument with the file number D-1-78-113-13 of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation .
