The Roman Catholic parish church of Andorf is located in Andorf in the market town of Andorf in the Schärding district in Upper Austria . The church consecrated to St. Stephen belongs to the Andorf deanery in the diocese of Linz . The church is a listed building .

history

A church was mentioned in documents around 1120. With 1360 a parish from the cathedral chapter of the Diocese of Passau . The Gothic choir shows the year 1527. The baroque nave was built between 1760 and 1762 with the Schärdingen master builder Georg Türk.

The Gothic, slightly retracted two-bay choir with a ribbed vault closes with a five-eighth end . The baroque single-nave four-bay nave is vaulted with ring barrels on belts and double pilasters. The two-storey west gallery has protruding side galleries. The substructure of the west tower is Gothic, today's bell chamber was built in 1745/1746 and changed in 1818/1819, and has an onion helmet with a lantern. The former sacristy portal is Gothic. The Gothic south portal has a door with Gothic fittings. The porch of the church is vaulted and contains two colorful, multi-figure clay reliefs from the second half of the 16th century, on the one hand with the depiction of the crucifixion and on the other hand the deposition from the cross .

Furnishing

The mighty baroque high altar of good quality was built around 1690. The high altar picture Stoning of St. Stephanus painted Anton Hitzenthaler the Younger (1825). The side altars are from the third quarter of the 18th century and have figures from the mid-17th century. The high altar and side altars were restored in 1853/1854 and 1938.

The organ from the mid-18th century from the Minoritenkirche (Linz) there translocated and changed.

There are heraldic gravestones from the 15th to the 18th centuries.
