The parish church Erl stands in the town of Erl in the district of Kufstein in the state of Tyrol . The parish church , consecrated to the Apostle Andreas , belongs to the Deanery Kufstein of the Archdiocese of Salzburg . The church and the cemetery with the consecration hall are under monument protection ( list entry ).

history

In 788 a church was mentioned as ad montem Orilanum . In 1681/1682 a new church was built and the church was consecrated in 1698. 1703 was a fire; In 1722 the church was renovated; In 1735 the tower was restored. In 1809 there was another fire and the church was restored from 1810 to 1828. 1972 was a restoration.

architecture

In the western front stands the medieval tower with a baroque octagonal bell lock and an onion helmet with a lantern . On the left and right of the tower is a round arch portal.

The baroque church is from the late 17th century or from the first third of the 18th century. There are extensions on both sides of the strongly recessed choir. The nave and choir show a pilaster structure on the facade , the window reveals are rounded at the top and bottom.

The interior of the church shows a wide three-bay nave under a shallow barrel with stitch caps and belt arches on pieces of entablature over double pilasters. The two-storey west gallery on Ionic columns is from the 17th century. The triumphal arch is rounded. The narrow, single-yoke choir under a barrel cap on entablature has a five-eighth end .

The ceiling paintings Calling and Crucifixion of St. Andreas painted Franz Alt Mutter in 1817.

Furnishing

The furniture is from the first quarter of the 19th century. The high altar in the height and width of the choir has sacrificial portals , it shows the altarpiece Glorie des St. Andreas , and the characters Rupert and Virgil and in the excerpt the group Trinity . The altar figures were probably created by Sebastian Anton Defregger.

The left side altar shows the Holy Family from the second half of the 19th century and bears the figures of Joachim and Anna. The right side altar shows the image of the Baptism of Christ from the second half of the 19th century and bears the figures of Elisabeth and Zacharias.

The carving group Crucifix with Maria was created by Kaspar Bichler in the first half of the 19th century. The Way of the Cross is from the second quarter of the 18th century.

Tombstones

  • On the outside on the western front left and right of the tower there are figural tombstones, by Pastor Johann Sätreich 1448 and Pastor Georg Rieder 1614.
