The Roman Catholic parish church of Jeging is located in the municipality of Jeging in the Braunau am Inn district in Upper Austria . The church, consecrated to St. Stephen , belongs to the Mattighofen deanery in the Diocese of Linz . The church building and the cemetery are under monument protection .

history

A church was mentioned in a document in 1170. The Gothic church was built in the middle of the 15th century and consecrated in 1458. The church was redesigned in baroque style .

architecture

The single - nave three-bay nave is followed by a retracted single - bay choir with a five-eighth end . Both vaults were later redesigned in Baroque style and replaced by barrels with lancet caps . The west tower carries an onion with a lantern .

Furnishing

The high altar is from the end of the 18th century. The side altars are from the third quarter of the 17th century. The pulpit was built in 1658 and was passed over in the early 19th century. The single manual organ with seven registers was built in 1887 by Albert Mauracher from Salzburg-Mülln .
