history

Until the middle of the 17th century the parish was near the church of St. Stephan outside of town. The former chapel was enlarged around 1650 and rebuilt around 1680. There was a fire in 1683 and the church was renovated in 1696. Restorations were in 1823 and 1937. A total restoration took place from 1972.

architecture

The elongated church building closes with a round apse and has three single-stepped buttresses on each of the long sides . The four-storey tower in front of the right-hand side of the gable facade has an eight-sided stone pyramid helmet with a docking balustrade and shows the inscriptions Renovated 1823 and 1937. The baroque painting of the tower was reconstructed during the 1973 restoration. To the south is an open chapel with a curved gable and a large crucifix and the small figures Rochus and Sebastian.

The four-bay nave has a barrel vault with short stab caps . The gallery from 1780 stands on two wooden pillars and has a curved parapet. The triumphal arch is like a basket. The long choir yoke under a barrel vault has two stitch caps in the half-shell above the apse.

Furnishing

The baroque high altar from the middle of the 18th century was changed in the 19th century. The altarpiece of St. Magdalena was officially painted by Franz Maurer (1807) in a frame with a beautiful carved essay. On the side are the figures of Francis of Assisi and Francis Xavier. In the south wall is a niche altar with an oil painting of the Crucifixion from the mid-19th century. The figures Leonhard and Florian from the middle of the 18th century are on the apse wall. There are the characters Sebastian and Johannes Nepomuk. Klein (1855) painted the oil painting Noli me tangere. The oil painting Conceptio was painted by E. Staudinger (1855).

A grave slab in the church floor names Pastor Josephus Seitz who died in 1779.

One bell is marked with Johann Josef Pfistermeister Ödenburg 1769.

Rectory

The portal has a volute frame. A memorial plaque with a building inscription mentions 1718. There is a stone statue with a Loretto Madonna from 1769.
