Catholic parish church of St. Simon and Judas Thaddäus in Mitterpullendorf

The Roman Catholic parish church of Mitterpullendorf is in the village of Mitterpullendorf in the municipality of Oberpullendorf in the Oberpullendorf district in Burgenland . It is consecrated to Saints Simon and Jude Thaddäus and belongs to the dean's office in Oberpullendorf in the Eisenstadt diocese . The building is a listed building .

history

The parish was founded in the Middle Ages. In the meantime the church was Protestant . The Catholic parish was rebuilt in 1666. The current building was built in the second half of the 18th century. A total restoration took place in 1978 and 1979.

The church is a single-nave building with a straight, closed choir of the same width. A church tower was built into the neo-Gothic west facade.

Church interior

The nave has four bays. It is divided by belt arches that rest on pilasters . In between there is a square vault with shield arches . Between the nave and the choir is an intermediate yoke with a square vaulted square. The rectangular choir bay is barrel vaulted .

Furnishing

The high altar dates from the second half of the 18th century. The rococo - Tabernacle is decorated by a sitting figure of a Madonna and Child. The altarpiece on the wall shows the apostles Simon and Jude. It was painted in the 19th century. This is flanked by side figures on pedestals. These represent the Saints Peter and Paul .

The side altar dates from the 18th century. The altarpiece shows St. Lawrence . There are two figures of St. John Nepomuk on the cafeteria .

The pulpit dates from the second half of the 18th century. It is kept simple and decorated with Rococo ornamentation. The font with a wooden group of Anabaptists dates from the 18th century. On the south wall there is a wooden baroque Madonna, which could originally have been a columnar Madonna. An oil painting of St. Joseph from the second half of the 18th century hangs above the sacristy door in a Rococo frame.
