Parish church of Oberkohlstätten
The Roman Catholic parish church Oberkohlstätten is on the upper village street in the town Oberkohlstätten in the municipality Unterkohlstätten in the district of Oberwart in Burgenland . It is consecrated to St. Leonhard and belongs to the dean's office in Rechnitz in the Eisenstadt diocese . The building is a listed building .
history
The parish was founded in 1779. In 1749 a Leonhard chapel was built on the upper village street and rebuilt around 1800. During this renovation, the church was expanded to include the church tower, the gallery and the choir section. A restoration took place in 1972.
Church building

The church has an integrated facade tower with an eight-sided pyramid helmet. The choir is the same width as the choir and closed in a semicircle.
- Church interior
The nave has three bays. Above it is a flat ceiling, which is divided by belt arches . But these are not related to the wall pilasters . In the south yoke, which also forms the substructure of the church tower, there is a three-axis gallery with continuous columns. The gallery is arched with a cross ridge . In 1952 the stage was enlarged. The triumphal arch over inclined pilasters separates the nave from the single-bay choir. The choir yoke is square vaulted, the apse is under a cup vault.
Furnishing
The high altar has a neo-Romanesque tabernacle . The oil painting on the wall depicts St. Leonhard adoring the Trinity . At the bottom there is a landscape with a view of the church. It was painted around 1800.
The pulpit dates from the first quarter of the 19th century. A baroque oval relief with the tablets of the Law of Moses can be seen on the basket . It was created in the middle of the 18th century. The large lecture cross on the wall was made in the 18th century.
Bells
Josef Pfistermeister cast the bell in Kőszeg in 1753 .
