Unterkohlstätten is a municipality in the Oberwart district in Burgenland in Austria .

geography

The community is located on the northwest slopes of the Günser Mountains in southern Burgenland at the sources of the Unterkohlstättner Bach.

In addition, the Rotten Weißenbachl and Langau belong to the community.

The community consists of the cadastral communities Glashütten bei Schlaining, Günseck , Holzschlag , Oberkohlstätten and Unterkohlstätten.

history

Like all of Burgenland, the place belonged to Hungary (German-West Hungary) until 1920/21 . Since 1898 had due to the Magyarization of the government in Budapest of Hungarian name Alsószénégetö be used. After the end of the First World War, after tough negotiations, German-West Hungary was awarded to Austria in the Treaties of St. Germain and Trianon in 1919. The place has belonged to the newly founded state of Burgenland since 1921.

In 1950, Unterkohlstätten was connected to the STEWEAG power grid .

In 1954 the construction of the aqueduct began and the project was completed on December 31, 1955.

In 1971, in the course of the amalgamation of the municipalities, together with glassworks near Schlaining, Günseck, Holzschlag and Unterkohlstätten, they were incorporated into Unterkohlstätten.

fire Department

  • The Unterkohlstätten volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1910. As of January 1, 2015, the team comprised a total of 21 active participants. Martin Schuch has been in command since January 1, 2013. On May 5, 2012, a new fire engine with a portable pump was handed over to its destination. On May 15, 1999, the new fire station was blessed. This was built in the years from 1994. The fire brigade was responsible for the construction through its own contribution. The old fire station was demolished in 1999 and this property was redesigned as part of the village renewal in Burgenland.

Parish council

In addition to Mayor Christian Pinzker (SPÖ) and Vice Mayor Martin Pinczker (ÖVP), the executive councils Bernhard Koller (ÖVP), Bernhard Lackner (SPÖ) and Martin Ringhofer (SPÖ) are also members of the community board.

Wolfgang Schmidt (SPÖ) was elected to the environmental council.

Werner Kappel (SPÖ, Oberkohlstätten), Bernhard Lackner (SPÖ, for wood felling), Martin Ringhofer (SPÖ, for Günseck) and Rudolf Voith (SPÖ, for glassworks near Schlaining) were appointed mayor.

Mayor is Christian Pinzker (SPÖ). On November 26, 2016, he was elected by the local council to succeed Leonhard Schneemann (SPÖ), who had headed the community since 2006, and was sworn in by district governor Helmut Nemeth on November 28, 2016. In the direct mayor election on October 1, 2017, Christian Pinzker had to face the electorate and was confirmed in his office with 59.10% of the votes. His competitor was Martin Pinczker (ÖVP), who received 40.90%. In the constituent meeting of the municipal council, Martin Pinczker was then elected deputy mayor.

Johann Eichberger is the head of the office.

The last mayor before the municipalities were amalgamated was Breakfast Johann No. 36 (ÖVP). In the municipal council elections in 1968 the ÖVP received 6 council seats, the SPÖ 3rd vice mayor was Gruber Johann Nr. 44 (SPÖ).

Since the parishes were merged in 1971

With effect from January 1, 1971, the smaller municipalities in Burgenland were dissolved. In the course of this, the places Glashütten bei Schlaining, Günseck, Holzschlag, Oberkohlstätten and Unterkohlstätten were merged to form the large community of Unterkohlstätten for the purpose of simpler administrative work.
