Mischendorf is a municipality with 1537 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in Burgenland in the Oberwart district in Austria . The Hungarian place name of the municipality is Pinkamiske .

history
Like all of Burgenland, the place belonged to Hungary (German-West Hungary) until 1920/21 . Since 1898 had due to the Magyarization of the government in Budapest of Hungarian name Pinkamiske be used. After the end of the First World War , after tough negotiations, German-West Hungary was awarded to Austria in the Treaties of St. Germain and Trianon in 1919. The place has belonged to the newly founded federal state of Burgenland since 1921 (see also the history of Burgenland ).

Parish council
In addition to Mayor Martin Csebits (ÖVP) and Deputy Mayor Friedrich Sulyok (SPÖ), the executive councils Mario Brunner (SPÖ), Thomas Kantauer (ÖVP), Peter Plank (ÖVP), Andreas Sagmeister (ÖVP) and Brigitte Schendl (SPÖ) also belong to the community council on.
The following were appointed as local councilors: Margit Halper (ÖVP, for Großbachselten), Thomas Kantauer (ÖVP, for Mischendorf), Roman Limmer (ÖVP, for Rohrbach an der Teich), Peter Plank (ÖVP, for Kleinbachselten), Josef Steiner (ÖVP, for Kotezicken) and Thomas Wukits (ÖVP, for Neuhaus in der Wart).
Andreas Graf (ÖVP) was elected to the environmental council.
mayor
Mayor is Martin Csebits (ÖVP). After the age-related resignation of Johann Wagner (SPÖ), who had headed the community since 1997, Brigitte Schendl (SPÖ) was elected the new mayor by the local council on January 27, 2012. She lost the direct mayor election on October 7, 2017 with 43.17% of the voters to Martin Csebits with 54.49%. In the mayoral election on October 1st, Csebits won with 53.96% against Friedrich Sulyok (SPÖ, 46.04%). Sulyok was elected vice mayor.
Christine Schneidinger is the head of the municipal office.
