Wiesfleck is a municipality in the Oberwart district in Burgenland in Austria . The Hungarian place name of the municipality is Újrétfalu .

The community is located in southern Burgenland.
Community structure
The municipal area comprises the following four localities or cadastral communities of the same name (population in brackets as of January 1, 2020):
- Schönherrn (77)
- Schreibersdorf (219)
- Vineyard in Burgenland (68)
- Wiesfleck (793)
history
Like the rest of Burgenland, the place belonged to Hungary (German West Hungary) until 1921 . Since 1898 had due to the Magyarization of the government in Budapest of Hungarian name Újrétfalu be used. After the end of the First World War, after tough negotiations, German-West Hungary was awarded to Austria in the Treaties of St. Germain and Trianon in 1919. The place has belonged to the newly founded federal state of Burgenland since 1921 (see also the history of Burgenland ).
Due to the municipal structure improvement law of September 1, 1970, the previously independent municipalities of Schönherrn, Schreibersdorf, Weinberg im Burgenland and Wiesfleck were merged to form the municipality of Wiesfleck.

Parish council
In addition to Mayor Christoph Krutzler (ÖVP) and Deputy Mayor Eduard Scheumbauer (SPÖ), the executive councils Hans Brenner (ÖVP), Thomas Brenner (SPÖ), Martin Hettlinger (ÖVP) and Hans Hutter (SPÖ) also belong to the community board.
Eduard Scheumbauer (SPÖ) was elected to the environmental council.
The following were appointed to the mayor: Franz Buchegger (ÖVP, for Schreibersdorf), Alfred Plank (ÖVP, for Schönherrn) and Walter Posch (ÖVP, for Weinberg).

Mayor is Christoph Krutzler (ÖVP). After Hans Brenner (ÖVP), who had held the office for 16 years, declared at the beginning of April 2016 that he would no longer be available for another period, the ÖVP party executive nominated the 26-year-old local and community party chairman Christoph on April 19, 2017 Krutzler as mayor candidate. In the direct mayor election on October 1, 2017, Krutzler won 58.44% against incumbent Vice Mayor Markus Brenner (SPÖ), who suffered a loss of 11.81 percentage points compared to the last election in 2012 and came to 35.87%. Ilse Jägerbauer stood for the FPÖ and received 5.70% of the votes.
At the constituent meeting of the municipal council, Eduard Scheumbauer (SPÖ) was elected vice mayor for the first time.
