Leonhard Snowman

Leonhard Schneemann , also Leo Schneemann , (born October 31, 1968 ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). From 2006 to 2016 he was mayor of Unterkohlstätten . Since August 13, 2020, it is the provincial government of Burgenland government Doskozil II responsible for the social and economic.

Life

education and profession

After primary school in Oberkohlstätten and secondary school in Stadtschlaining, Leonhard Schneemann attended the commercial academy in Oberwart , where he graduated in 1988 . He then began studying business education at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, which he graduated with a diploma in 1993. In 1993/94 he was sales manager at Allianz in Vienna. In 1994 he began a doctorate in social and economic sciences at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, where he received his doctorate in 1998 .

From September 1994 he taught at the higher federal college in Oberwart. From 2007 he was responsible for the training and further education of teachers in vocational schools. 2014 he moved to Bad Tatzmannsdorf , where he was first authorized in the property of the Province of Burgenland contained spa Tatzmannsdorf AG was whose supervisory board he was before 2008-2013. Snowman is married and has one son. He is a hunter, plays the accordion, organ and trumpet and was an honorary local director of the Red Cross in his hometown of Unterkohlstätten .

From 1997, Schneemann was a local councilor and board member and in 2000 became the SPÖ local party chairman in his home town of Unterkohlstätten . In the National Council election in 2002 he ran for the Austrian National Council. In 2004 he became chairman of the SPÖ community. In 2006, Schneemann succeeded Franz Klein as mayor of Unterkohlstätten. He was confirmed in office in the municipal council and mayor elections in 2007 and 2012 , and Christian Pinzker succeeded him as mayor in 2016. From 2010 to 2013, Schneemann was also chairman of the Burgenland Garbage Association.

After Christian Illedits' resignation , Schneemann was presented on August 12, 2020 by the SPÖ Burgenland as Illedit's successor as a social and economic councilor in the state government Doskozil II . He was elected and sworn in on August 13, 2020 in the Burgenland State Parliament with 30 of the 35 votes cast . Hunting and fishing moved from Deputy Governor Astrid Eisenkopf to the responsibility of Schneemann, the sports agendas and the Committee of the Regions were taken over by Provincial Councilor Heinrich Dorner .
