Astrid Eisenkopf (* 22. February 1984 in Eisenstadt as Astrid Mandl ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and since 2015 the provincial government of Burgenland government . In the Niessl IV state government, she was responsible for environmental and nature protection, water and building law, energy, municipal administration and youth agendas, and from May 2018 for the women's department. From February 28, 2019, she was responsible for the areas of women, the environment, energy, nature conservation, agriculture, consumer protection and debt advice in the state government of Doskozil I. Since February 17, 2020 she is governor -Stellvertreterin of Burgenland in the state government Doskozil II .

Life

Astrid Eisenkopf attended elementary school in Steinbrunn at the Bundesgymnasium Eisenstadt, where she graduated in 2002. In 2011 she completed her degree in economics and law at the Vienna University of Economics and Business with a thesis on the subject of yardstick regulation as a possible approach for the design of the 3rd regulatory period of the electricity industry in Austria .

She then worked in the Burgenland Regional Health Insurance Fund as well as in the investment management and finance department of the Burgenland Provincial Government, where she was responsible for EU audits and reporting directly to Governor Hans Niessl .

Eisenkopf is widowed and lives in Steinbrunn.

Eisenkopf got involved with the Kinderfreunde and the Socialist Youth , of which she was chairman in Steinbrunn. Later she became SPÖ local women chairwoman and deputy SPÖ local party chairwoman in Steinbrunn as well as deputy SPÖ district women chairwoman. On July 9, 2015, the Landtag elected her to the Burgenland Provincial Government.

In January 2018 she was elected as the successor to Robert Hergovich as SPÖ district chairwoman in the Eisenstadt-Umgebung district. At the regional women's conference on April 21, 2018, Verena Dunst handed over her chairmanship to Astrid Eisenkopf, and on May 8, 2018, Eisenkopf von Dunst also took over the women's agendas in the state government. In September 2018 she was elected regional party chairman at the state party conference of the SPÖ Burgenland with 99.4% of the votes, Hans Peter Doskozil succeeded Hans Niessl as state party chairman. At the SPÖ federal party conference on November 24, 2018, she was elected deputy federal party chairman. She also succeeded Verena Dunst in the federal party presidium.

In the state government Doskozil I , Eisenkopf handed over responsibility for the communities to Christian Illedits and the youth area to Daniela Winkler and took over the agricultural agendas, as well as the consumer protection and debt counseling area from Verena Dunst. In the state elections in 2020 , she ran behind top candidate Hans Peter Doskozil in second place on the SPÖ state list and as a top candidate in the Eisenstadt-Umgebung district .

On February 17, 2020, she became Deputy Governor in the Doskozil II state government, succeeding Johann Tschürtz . Due to a vocal cord operation by Governor Hans Peter Doskozil, she temporarily took over his official duties in March 2020. In June 2020, Rita Stenger succeeded her as chairwoman of the SPÖ women in the Eisenstadt district. After the resignation of Provincial Councilor Christian Illedits on August 1, 2020, hunting and fishing moved from Eisenkopf to Illedit's successor, Leonhard Schneemann .
