history

A church was mentioned in a document around 1250. The nave of the Gothic hall church was redesigned from 1640 to 1655 and partly vaulted.

architecture

The three-aisled, three-bay nave is connected to a retracted two-bay cross-rib vaulted choir with a five-eighth end . The central nave of the nave is vaulted with groin, the north aisle has a Gothic ribbed vault, the eastern yoke with a five-part cross vault, the ribs of the south aisle, which was originally vaulted with ribs, have been removed. The west tower is Gothic at the bottom, has a rib-vaulted bell, and carries a baroque onion with a lantern from 1888. The late-Gothic west portal has a vaulted vestibule. The sacristy has a ribbed vault and a door with Gothic fittings.

The southern two-bay chapel extension has a richly twisted ribbed vault in the western yoke, the ribs have been removed in the eastern yoke, which was originally cross-ribbed. To the west of the south aisle and the aforementioned south chapel stands the two-bay chapel St. Anna with a rich ribbed vault. The Anna chapel shows the remains of late Gothic frescoes on the walls of the Last Judgment, Crucifixion, Mary, saint, donor and a tendril ornament. The remains of the fresco were uncovered in 1938 and restored in 1953.

On the outside of the church are a number of tombstones from the 15th to 17th centuries. A Gothic coat of arms stone 1447 is on the tower.

Furnishing

The high altar is from 1838. The side altars from 1846 bear the figures Barbara and Katharina and Valentin and Wolfgang from the first quarter of the 18th century. The pulpit was built around 1700. In the south chapel is a baroque crucifix from the first quarter of the 18th century. In the Anna chapel there is a remarkable late Gothic relief Holy clan around 1515/1520 was attributed to the master of the Altöttinger doors , a pupil of Hans Leinberger and restored in 1954.

There are noteworthy tombstones: A relief tombstone from 1539 in the Anna Chapel. A figural tombstone Bernhard Lindner 1592. In the north aisle the tombstones Martha Jerger 1743 and Christoph Präungartner 1749 are works by the Obernberg sculptor Johann Michael Jerger.
