A donation from 1416 allowed the Pfarrwidum Obernberg to establish the rectory. As far as is known, the house burned down at least three times and was rebuilt as good as new under Pastor Heindl (1815 to 1845 in Obernberg). Some of the documents were lost in the fires and so it is not known where the pastors or vicars of the Passau cathedral chapter lived before.

The Schifferkirche St. Nikolaus was built in the middle of the 15th century. It has a nave with a flat ceiling and a slightly retracted choir with a three-eighth end. The tower with the pointed helmet is a hexagonal roof turret that begins like a bay window in the middle of the outer wall. The church was received by the salt boatmen Obernberg (Nauflezergilde). After the decline of the salt transport on the Inn, the church fell into disrepair. The church was renovated in the middle of the 20th century and has served as a cultural center and event space for exhibitions and concerts since 1978.
