Parish church in Weng in the Innkreis
The Roman Catholic parish church of Weng im Innkreis is located in Weng in the municipality of Weng im Innkreis in the Braunau am Inn district in Upper Austria . The church consecrated to St. Martin belongs to the deanery Aspach in the diocese of Linz . The church and the cemetery are under monument protection .
history
A church was mentioned in a document in 1070. The late Gothic tuff block construction was built around 1490. The baroque tower elevation with bell room and double onion helmet was carried out in 1733 by master bricklayer Johann Michael Vierthaler .
architecture
The single - nave, four- bay vaulted net - ribbed nave is followed by a slightly retracted single - bay vaulted net - ribbed choir with a five-eighth end . Two-storey west gallery , the lower gallery is three-axis Gothic and vaulted with mesh ribs, the upper gallery is baroque. The west tower is Gothic, the tower hall is vaulted with mesh ribs. The tower has an eight-sided bell house and a double onion helmet. The west and south portals are Gothic. The south portal has a star-rib vaulted vestibule. The late Gothic vestry portal has a door with Gothic lily fittings from 1490. In the choir there is a late Gothic fresco of the Annunciation from the end of the 15th century, restored in 1935. In the nave there are remains of frescoes from the 16th and 17th centuries.
Furnishing
The mighty, baroque high altar was built in 1668. The side altars are neo-Gothic . The pulpit and tabernacle are classicistic from the end of the 18th century.
There is a bell around 1460.
