The Pfasserspitze (also Gfaserspitze ) is a 3444 m high mountain in the Schnalskamm in the Ötztal Alps . It lies exactly on the border between the Italian province of South Tyrol and the Austrian state of Tyrol .
Location and surroundings
The Pfasserspitze rises in the Schnalskamm, which runs from west to east, between the Hinteren Schwärze ( 3624 m ), from which it is separated by the Rossbergjoch, and the Rötenspitze ( 3393 m ), which rises behind the Pfasserscharte. The summit presents itself as an elongated ridge. On the south side, the mountain structure drops over a ridge into the Pfossental and is part of the Texel Group Nature Park . The north side is framed by the glacier area of the Schalfferner , which reaches close to the summit.
