The Pfründnerhaus (nursing home of the Darmstadt Clinic) is a building in Darmstadt .

Architecture and history

The Pfründnerhaus was built in the years 1888/1889 according to plans by the architect and city builder Stephan Braden . The building owner of the retirement home was the city ​​of Darmstadt .

The U-shaped three-storey clinker building was built in the neo-Gothic style. The cornice , the decorative frieze and the row of windows of the same type encompass the building. The new building from 1952 was demolished again in 1987. Another new building in the style of the 1980s was erected between 1988 and 1990.

The nursing home has been owned by the Darmstadt Clinic since 1996 . At the same time, the urban retirement home was renamed the Emilstrasse nursing home of the clinic .
