history
The hospital was opened for the first time in 1612, financed by donations. It was relocated from its former location at Bessunger Tor in 1808 to Grafenstraße, where it is today. In 1823 the house was taken over by the city and subsequently expanded several times. In 1912, now renamed the Municipal Hospital , there were already 500 beds. The clinic was destroyed in 1944, and the reconstruction after the war was gradually carried out. Another location in Darmstadt-Eberstadt was added.
