Darmstadt's city center is centrally located within Darmstadt . The district has an area of 233 hectares and around 20,000 inhabitants. It is divided into the statistical districts of the city center , Rheintor / Grafenstrasse , Hochschulviertel , Kapellplatzviertel and St. Ludwig with Eichbergviertel .
Infrastructure and sights
In the city center there are, among other things, the Luisenplatz with the Ludwigsmonument , the Residenzschloss , the St. Ludwig Church , the Darmstadt Clinic , the Darmstadt Regional Council , the inner city campus of the Technical University of Darmstadt , the Hessian State Museum and the Darmstadtium , a congress center , which was named after the element Darmstadtium .
