Phil Gilbert
Phil Gilbert (* around 1925 ; † 2016 ) was an American jazz trumpeter .
Gilbert played mid-1940s in the big band of Buddy Rich , with 1,947 seats for V-Disc emerged. In the middle of the following decade he was a member of the Stan Kenton Orchestra, with which he also toured Europe. In 1958 he accompanied the singer Anita O'Day ( Sings the Winners ) in the Russ Garcia Orchestra . In 1959 he worked with Terry Gibbs in Los Angeles; In the mid-60s with Harry James , with whom he a. a. also appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show . In the field of jazz he was involved in 45 recording sessions between 1947 and 1967. Gilbert also worked as a music teacher.
