Philip Delaquis (born July 29, 1974 in Bern ) is a Swiss film and theater producer . Delaquis is a member of the Swiss and European Film Academy .

Life

Philip Delaquis comes from a Swiss-Czech family and studied business administration and media studies at the University of Bern and the Humboldt University of Berlin . During his studies he organized small film festivals and developed and produced the talent screen competition from 2005 to 2009 . After ten years of working for Swiss television ( SRG SSR ), including as a producer and buyer for nature documentaries, he founded the Zurich production company Das Kollektiv für audiovisuelle Werke GmbH in 2005 with Min Li Marti and Stefan Zuber . This company has produced several award-winning films, including the film Forbidden Voices (2012), which won the Amnesty International Award and the WACC-SIGNIS Award and was nominated for the Swiss Film Prize. The film Yalom's Guide to Happiness (2014) and GURU - Bhagwan, his secretary & his bodyguard (2011) also come from this production company, which has been successfully launched in over ten European countries . Both films were nominated for the Swiss Film Prize. Further film productions were the feature film Soundless Wind Chime (2009) by Kit Hung , which received ten international awards and was premiered in the official program of the Berlinale . In 2014 Delaquis founded the production company Mons Veneris Films GmbH together with Barbara Miller .

Delaquis developed and produced the musical productions Dällebach Kari - Das Musical (2010), which debuted at the Thuner Seespiele with 75,000 spectators, then ran in Zurich in Theater 11 and in Bern in the Ewigi Liebi Theater and received various prizes, among others a Prix ​​Walo . Gotthelf - Das Musical (2011) by Charles Lewinsky and Markus Schönholzer and The Visit of the Old Lady - The Musical (2013), which was performed at the Thuner Seespiele and in the Ronacher Theater in Vienna , followed a year later . In 2015 the musical went on tour in Japan and in 2016 it was revived at Theater Creation in Tokyo.

Private life

Philip Delaquis has been married to the costume designer Mareike Delaquis Porschka since 2014. Together they have a son (* 2014) and a daughter (* 2017). The family lives in the canton of Bern .
