Philipp Bitterling

Philipp Bitterling (born January 5, 1970 ) is a German journalist , moderator and program developer.

Life

Bitterling passed the Abitur in 1989 at the Johann-Rist-Gymnasium in Wedel and studied law at the University of Trier from 1990 to 1995 , which he completed with the first state examination. During his studies, he was already working as a freelancer in the media sector and worked for the German Press Agency , the Trierischer Volksfreund and the radio station Radio RPR , among others . From 1995 to 1997 he completed a traineeship at Radio RPR in Ludwigshafen .

From 1998 to 2001, Bitterling worked as a radio speaker and editor for the channels SWR3 and SWR4 as well as for SWR television . In 2001 he switched to the broadcaster WDR2 and worked there as an editor. In 2003, Bitterling was editor and presenter of the program "Campus & Karriere" on Deutschlandfunk . In the period from 2003 to 2008, Bitterling worked as an editor in the local programming of WDR television . From 2008 he worked as a program developer at WDR television, and from the beginning of 2016 this office was part of the coordinator's position for the television program directorate of Westdeutscher Rundfunk. Together with Corinna Liedtke, Bitterling was the editor in charge of the humor show “The Laughing of Others”, which was awarded the German Television Prize in 2017 and was nominated for a Grimme Prize in 2016 . The program “Fire & Flame”, which is also Bitterling's area of ​​responsibility, was also on the list of candidates for the German TV Prize. In addition, he was responsible for other formats such as “Country & Delicious”, “ Der Vorkoster ”, “Much for Little” and “ Lichters Schnitzeljagd ”.

In 2019, Bitterling left WDR and moved to SWR as head of the multimedia program planning and development department.
