Philipp Jakob Treu (baptized March 15, 1761 in Basel ; † March 2, 1825 there ) was a Swiss notary, sculptor and medalist .

Live and act

In addition to his learned profession as a notary, Philipp Jakob Treu also worked as a sculptor and medalist. He was particularly successful with busts , reliefs and portrait medallions. During the reign of Napoleon he also worked in Paris for a time.
