Philipp Karlsbader , bourgeois Philipp Strobl (* 1990 in Lienz , East Tyrol ) is an Austrian actor .

Life

Philipp Karlsbader, who comes from East Tyrol, attended the Bundesoberstufenrealgymnasium , where he received music lessons and was a member of the theater group. From 2007 to 2010 he initially completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter . Karlovy Vary showed an early interest in acting. As a teenager he was the main actor in a musical. A few years later he took part in a student film about the First World War , which further promoted his career aspiration to become an actor.

From 2013 to 2017, after passing the entrance exam, for which he had to prepare three monologues and play an improvisational scene, he completed his acting studies at the Krauss drama school in Vienna . He also attended various acting workshops. During his studies in 2015 at the Walzwerk Theater in the play Die Durstigen by Wajdi Mouawad, he played the childhood friend Murdoch. In the spring of 2018, he passed the stage maturity examination in drama.

Since 2011 he has appeared in front of the camera in several short films . He now works mainly for television.

In the Austrian TV series SOKO Kitzbühel (2018), he played the hot-headed Moser son Zacharias in a dramatic main role in the episode. In the 11th season of the Austrian television series SOKO Donau (2019), he took on another leading role as the suspect owner of a tattoo studio with a drug past. In addition, from October 2019 he was in front of the camera for the Tyrolean country thriller Das Mädchen aus dem Bergsee , directed by Mirjam Unger .

Philipp Karlsbader has been studying primary education at the Vienna University of Education since 2017 . He lives in Vienna.
