Philippe Reinhardt

Philippe Reinhardt (born May 14, 1981 in Zurich ) is a Swiss actor .

Life

Philippe Reinhardt grew up in Zurich. After drama schools in Munich , Hamburg and Zurich, he took his first steps on the theater stage. Engagements for German television series and films followed. In 2008 he got a role in the German comedy 1½ Ritter alongside Til Schweiger . In the same year he stood in front of the camera for the Swiss film Champions .

This was followed by a role in Faktor 8 - The Day Has Come , a prime-time thriller for ProSieben . He also got the lead role in the short film Der Zauberregen alongside the German actress Alexandra Kamp . In the Bern theater on Effingerstrasse he was on stage for the play to be or not to be. In 2010 he played the leading role for the screenwriter and director Markus Boestfleisch in the movie Simplify your soul .

International productions followed, for example Andrey Malyukov's historical football drama Match about the historical death game from 1942, as well as Fedor Bondarchuk's 3D production Stalingrad , which Russia entered into the 2013 Oscar race for the best foreign film. He gained fame primarily through his leading role in "Zhenich - The Bridegroom", the most successful Russian film in 2016 in Russia with 3 million moviegoers and more than 20 million viewers at the free TV premiere.

In 2018 he starred in the Russian war drama Sobibor , which was nominated for the 2019 Oscar for Russia as the best foreign language film . The film is based on the Sobibór uprising in the extermination camp of the same name in eastern Poland in 1943.

Philippe Reinhardt lives in Berlin and Zurich.
