criticism

Wolfdietrich Schmied-Kowarzik judges that the dictionary was not a reference work, but a book of laws and rules of the “Marxist-Leninist” ideology that prescribed how to think. "For those who already knew something about Marx and his philosophical origins, it was a frightening example of how not to deal with the critical thinking of Marx." Schmied-Kowarzik uses striking examples in comparison to the historical-critical dictionary of Marxism to illustrate the one-sidedness and dogmatic binding of the dictionary.
