Heinrich Parthey

Heinrich Parthey (born August 13, 1936 in Bucharest ; † April 21, 2020 ) was a German philosopher , science researcher and lecturer at the Humboldt University in Berlin .

life and work

Heinrich Parthey studied philosophy at the Karl Marx University in Leipzig from 1954 to 1959 under Ernst Bloch and Gerhard Harig, among others . His fellow students at the Leipzig Philosophical Institute included Klaus Kittowski , Reinhard Mocek and Hubert Laitko , who later became philosophers of science and with whom he worked continuously.

In 1963 he did his doctorate at the Humboldt University in Berlin under Hermann Ley with a thesis on the subject of the experiment and its function in the cognitive process of physics . In 1989 he completed his habilitation with the writing Research Situation and Interdisciplinary: Investigations into the structure and function of interdisciplinary research situations based on data and information from groups in institutes of the biosciences . In 1991 Parthey was one of the founders of the Gesellschaft für Wissenschaftsforschung e. V. in Berlin and was its first chairman until his death. In 1997 he became a private lecturer at the Humboldt University in Berlin.

Parthey was a lecturer at the University of Rostock from 1962 to 1969 and from 1970 to 1993 at the Institute for Theory, History and Organization of Science in Berlin (until 1990 Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the GDR ). From 1994 he taught at the Institute for Library and Information Science at the Humboldt University in Berlin .

Parthey has published scientific articles on science methodology, science and innovation, the integrity of scientific publications, and other topics in the field of science studies. He edited numerous yearbooks of the Society for Science Studies and other anthologies.
