Phoebe Ephron
Phoebe Ephron (born January 26, 1914 in New York City as Phoebe Wolkind , † October 13, 1971 there ) was an American screenwriter .
Life
In 1964 , Ephron, along with Richard L. Breen and Henry Ephron, was nominated for an Oscar in the category " Best Adapted Screenplay " for their work on Captain Newman .
Phoebe Wolkind was born in 1914 to Louis and Kate Wolkind. She attended James Monroe High School and moved to Hunter College after graduation . There she met her future husband Henry Ephron in 1933 . Phoebe and Henry Ephron wrote plays and screenplays together. The couple had four children. The eldest daughter was the equally successful screenwriter and film director Nora Ephron . Even Delia Ephron is active as a screenwriter.
