action

The story of the Donahue family of artists is told: At the time of the Depression in the USA, the Donahues felt the effects of the economic crisis, as fewer and fewer people wanted to spend money on entertainment. You have to fight hard to find engagements. When Tim, one of the Donahues' children, grows up, he falls in love with Vicky, who works as a cloakroom girl in a nightclub and also performs there. After several complications - Steve becomes a priest, Tim disappears from the hospital after a car accident - the family members meet at a concert and spontaneously perform with five people. Then follows (in the film) a number for six, with Vicky.

Reviews

"Undemanding, but pleasant entertainment."

“Marilyn Monroe, who drives Donald out of show business and into uniform, has three songs to sing and performs them in her trademark seductive way (...) The cast is great (...) " There's No Business Like Show Business "is a great revue film full of colors and melodies. Quite simply a lot of wonderful emotionalism. "
