Phokwane ( English Phokwane Local Municipality ) is a local municipality in the Frances Baard district of the North Cape province of South Africa . The seat of the municipal administration is in Hartswater . Mayor is Crocket Adams.

In 2011 the community had 63,000 inhabitants. 81.9% of them were black, 11% colored and 6.3% white. 66.4 % of the speakers spoke Setswana , 18.8% Afrikaans, 5.5% IsiXhosa and 3.8% English.
