Physalis subrepens is a plant type from the genus of jujubes ( Physalis ) in the family of the nightshade family (Solanaceae).

description

Physalis subrepens are herbaceous plants that reach a height of 50 to 60 cm. The stem axis is erect or prostrate, with the basal nodes often rooting in the ground. The stem axis is covered with glandular, branched trichomes that reach a length of up to 2 mm. The leaves are ovate or vice versa, they are 3 to 8 cm long and 1.6 to 6 cm wide. Both sides of the leaf are sparsely covered with 0.5 to 1.0 mm long trichomes. The leaf margin is serrated, wavy or entire, the leaf tip is pointed, the leaf base is often almost heart-shaped. The leaf stalks have a length of 22 to 45 mm and are sparsely covered with up to 2 mm long trichomes.

The flowers are solitary on 10 to 20 mm long pedicels . The calyx has a length of 7 to 10 mm and is 5 to 7 mm wide. The crown is yellow with dark spots, it is 9 to 14 mm long and 15 to 20 mm in diameter. The stamens are 2.5 to 3 mm long, the anthers are purple in color and 2.2 to 3 mm long. The flowering period is believed to be between April and December.

By the time the fruit is ripe, the calyx enlarges to a length of 20 to 28 mm and a width of 2 to 18 mm, it is pentagonal and ribbed in cross section. The fruit is a berry with a diameter of 8 to 12 mm.
