Pierpaolo De Negri (born June 5, 1986 in Genoa ) is a former Italian cyclist .

Athletic career

In 2008 De Negri won the one-day race Firenze-Empoli , a competition on the Italian national cycling calendar. At the international Giro del Casentino , it was not possible to determine on the basis of the finish photos whether he or Simone Ponzi crossed the finish line first in a sprint of a group of around 20 people, which is why both drivers were classified as winners.

In 2009 De Negri became a professional with the Italian Professional Continental Team ISD-Neri . His greatest career success to date was the 2012 sprint winner of the Trofeo Matteotti . In the following years he won a. a. two stages of the tour of Japan .

In February 2018, De Negri was temporarily suspended by the UCI after anabolic steroids had been detected in a doping test on December 21, 2017 . In November 2019, a four-year ban was set with effect from February 7, 2018.
