Pierre Hedin (born February 19, 1978 in Örnsköldsvik ) is a former Swedish ice hockey player .
Career
The 1.86 m tall defender began his career in the youth teams of MoDo Hockey Örnsköldsvik , for which he finally played in the first Elitserien until the end of the 2002/03 season. In the 1999 NHL Entry Draft , he was selected ( drafted ) as 239th in the eighth round of the Toronto Maple Leafs .
For the Maple Leafs, however, he only completed three NHL games and moved back to MoDo after a year. In the 2005/06 season the Swede for the DEL stood champions Adler Mannheim on the ice, on the HC Ambri-Piotta but he came back in 2006 again returned to his home club with which he for the first time in his career in 2007 Swedish Champion will could. For the 2009/10 season Hedin signed a contract with ERC Ingolstadt in the DEL. However, the club separated from the player in preparation, who then moved to Södertälje SK in his home country . He played there for two years before joining league rivals Timrå IK for the 2011/12 season. After a season in the Red Eagles jersey , the Swede ended his active career.
International
For the Swedish national ice hockey team , Pierre Hedin completed the U20 Junior World Championship in 1998 , for the seniors he was on the ice at the 2002 World Cup .
