Pierre Jaccoud
Pierre Jaccoud (born November 24, 1905 in Geneva ; † July 4, 1996 ) was a Swiss lawyer and politician ( FDP ) and possibly a victim of a miscarriage of justice .
biography
Jaccoud was a well-known lawyer in Geneva. He had initially joined his father's office as a salaried attorney and later became a partner of the law firm before taking it over. He was President of the Geneva Bar Association in 1953 and 1954 . Among other things, he represented Aly Khan as a divorce lawyer during his divorce from Rita Hayworth and was an attorney for numerous Swiss and foreign companies in Geneva. From 1936 to 1958 he was a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Geneva .
Jaccoud was found guilty of manslaughter of agricultural machinery dealer Charles Zumbach in a controversial and sensational murder trial ( Affair Jaccoud ) in connection with a love affair with Linda Baud, a secretary of the Geneva radio station, and possibly the victim of a miscarriage of justice.
He was married and had two daughters and a son.
