Pierre Joubert

Pierre Joubert (born June 27, 1910 in Paris , † January 14, 2002 in La Rochelle ) was a French draftsman and painter .

Pierre Joubert has been actively involved in the scouting movement from an early age . Between 1926 and 1960 he was employed as an illustrator at Scouts de France (with René Follet ), where he illustrated numerous magazines . He then worked for the Belgian publisher Marabout until 1975. There, in particular, books for young people and adventure, such as the French edition of the Bob Morane novels, were illustrated by him. Until 1979 he also drew for the Scouts d'Europe .

Throughout his life he created a large number of drawings , watercolors and paintings . Many of them show scout motifs, which earned him the name "scout painter". He also illustrated many scenes from science fiction and fantasy .
