Pierre Paquin (born August 23, 1979 in Neuilly-sur-Seine ) is a former French ski racer .

Career

Paquin started at the FIS races in December 1994, appearances in the European Cup followed from January 1998. His best result was third place in the indoor slalom in Landgraaf in November 2007.

The French competed in the first two World Cup races in February and March 2000, but could not finish both slaloms. For the third time it was not used until December 2001, but did not qualify for the second slalom run. Therefore, in the next few years he only competed in the European Cup, where he won only a few points, especially in the 2002/03 and 2003/04 seasons. Only from the 2004/05 season he got better results again.

From December 2005, Paquin will start again regularly in the World Cup and in January 2006 he won his first World Cup points in the super combination of Wengen with rank 26. On November 30, 2006 he achieved his best World Cup result for the time being in the Super Combined of Beaver Creek with eleventh place. After he was only able to score in the super combined for a long time, he also managed to finish a special slalom for the first time in December 2007 at the Gran Risa in Alta Badia and he finished twelfth. In January 2008 he achieved three good results in the super combination. In Wengen he was ranked 19th, in the classic combination of Kitzbühel he even reached eleventh place and in Chamonix he came in 14th. In his last season 2008/09 he had to struggle with many failures and only reached the points twice.

Paquin's only participation in the world championship was the super combination in Åre 2007 , where he was disqualified due to a peat error in slalom.
