Pierrepont-sur-Avre ( Picard : Pierpont-su-Avre) is a commune Déléguée in the northern French municipality of Trois-Rivieres with 659 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France .
Toponymy and Geography
Pierrepont ( Steinbrück , known as Petrapons as early as 1198) is located on the left bank of the Avre , which flows into the Trois Doms municipality , around 8 km south-southeast of Moreuil on the D935 département road (former Route nationale 35 ). The community has grown together with the hamlet of Hamel von Contoire and, via the D83 département road, with Hargicourt on the other side of the Trois Doms , where the Hargicourt-Pierrepont stop of the SNCF is located on the Amiens - Compiègne railway line .
history
After weaving began in the 18th century, a diverse small industry emerged in the 19th century. The Leper House was merged with the Hôpital St Charles in Amiens in 1697 . During the First World War , fighting took place in Pierrepont in 1918, in which the place was partially destroyed. Little more than a chapel has survived from the Notre-Dame priory.
The community received the Croix de guerre 1914-1918 as an award .
The municipality of Pierrepont-sur-Avre was merged with Hargicourt and Contoire on January 1st, 2019 to form the Commune nouvelle Trois-Rivières. Since then it has had the status of a Commune déléguée. The municipality of Pierrepont-sur-Avre belonged to the arrondissement of Montdidier , was part of the Communauté de communes Avre Luce Noye and the canton of Moreuil .
