Pietro Salvatore Colombo OFM (born October 28, 1922 in Carate Brianza , Italy , † July 9, 1989 in Mogadishu , Somalia ) was a Roman Catholic clergyman and bishop of Mogadishu .

Life

Colombo was ordained a priest on April 6, 1946 for the Franciscans (OFM) . On November 20, 1975 he was appointed Bishop of Mogadishu. He received the episcopal ordination on March 16, 1976 by the Archbishop of Milan Giovanni Umberto Cardinal Colombo . Co-consecrators were the apostolic administrator of Misurata / Libya Guido Attilio Previtali and the emeritus prelate of the territorial prelature São José do Grajaú Adolfo Luís Bossi OFMCap . On July 9, 1989, Colombo was murdered on the steps of its cathedral. The bishopric has been vacant since then .
