Nicolaus Otto von Wickede (* October 7, 1757 , † September 19, 1793 in Ratzeburg ) was a German administrative lawyer and Mecklenburg-Strelitz Drost in the Principality of Ratzeburg .

Life

Nicolaus Otto von Wickede was the second son of bailiff Bernhard Gotthard von Wickede (1721–1784) and the younger brother of Johann Friedrich von Wickede . He attended the cathedral school in Ratzeburg and from 1777 the Katharineum in Lübeck . From 1778 to 1781 he studied law, administration and economics at the University of Göttingen . Practical training on an estate near Ratzeburg followed in 1781/82.

In 1782 his father applied to be able to use him as an assistant. He was examined at the Domhof Ratzeburg and received his license to practice medicine. Gradually he took over more and more tasks from his father, and after his death he was appointed bailiff in the Principality of Ratzeburg on February 10, 1784 . 1786 he was on January 23rd and Drost on December 6th. In 1788 he received a seat and vote in the ducal chamber of Ratzeburg. He lived in the Daldorf curia in the Domhof (Domhof 25).

In 1786 he leased the dairy in Römnitz , but gave up this lease in 1792. He died the following year at the age of 36 and was buried in the cemetery at Ratzeburg Cathedral .

In 1784 he married Sophie, b. Schubert (born October 24, 1764 in Ratzeburg; † October 28, 1822), a daughter of the secretary of the Hanoverian government in Ratzeburg, Johann Daniel Schubert. Two of his sisters married his wife's brothers. The couple had six sons and two daughters. Of these, Friedrich August von Wickede (1788-1854) was city governor and mayor of Mölln , Adolf Johann Otto von Wickede was a forest clerk and surveyor in the Mecklenburg service.
