Pietro Tordi

Pietro Tordi (born July 12, 1906 in Florence , † 1990 in Rome ) was an Italian actor .

Life

Tordi first worked as a primary school teacher until he turned his passion for acting into his profession. In the 1930s he worked - with a pleasant deep voice - for the EIAR radio program and in the 1950s was one of the acting pioneers of the RAI . Since 1937, regularly since 1942, he also played in movies; by the end of his career he appeared in almost 140 films and TV plays in supporting roles as a fatherly friend, citizen or doctor. The roles of Baron Cefalu's defense lawyer in Divorce in Italian and Professor Rivaroli in Evening Without Alibi are among his most famous. He also used the pseudonyms Peter Barclay and Peter Tordy .
