The tug was equipped with a 400 hp triple expansion steam engine. The boiler had around 135 m² of heating surface and was initially fired with coal. In 1935 it was converted to oil firing. The coal supply was 40 tons and the crew consisted of the skipper, sailor, machinist and stoker.
In the first few years the tug was probably used on the central German canals and the Elbe . In 1935 the ship was registered in the Mannheim Rhine Ship Register and has been in service on the Rhine since that date. On the route between Sankt Goar and Bingen am Rhein , among other things, he provides pre-tensioning services for under-powered motor ships and assistance in the event of accidents. After 1958, the company A.Schweers & H.Klochhaus from Mülheim an der Ruhr bought the ship for towing services between Rotterdam and the Ruhr area and had it converted into a diesel tug with a 1000 HP Deutz diesel engine. From 1979 to 1996 the ship was owned by the shipping company Josef Schwarz KG in Sankt Goar and provided the prestressing service on the mountain route. Then the company Fendel and Fendel from Niederheimbach took over the tractor. In 2005, a Volvo Penta diesel engine with 1600 hp, which, however, is throttled to 1200 hp, was installed. Today the pilot is in action at Loh-Schifffahrts GmbH and is based in Trechtingshausen .
