Pio Marmaï (born July 13, 1984 in Strasbourg , Bas-Rhin , France ) is a French actor .

biography

Pio Marmaï is the son of an Italian designer and costume designer who works at the Strasbourg Opera. He studied acting at the conservatoire de Créteil and the Comédie de Saint-Étienne . He then went on to play theater before making its screen debut in the 2008 film drama C'est la vie, directed by Rémi Bezançon , alongside Jacques Gamblin , Déborah François and Cécile Cassel . For the presentation of the Albert Duval, he was present at the ceremony of the French film award César in 2009 as Best Newcomer nomination. He received another nomination in the same category from the César for his portrayal of Ben in the drama D'amour et d'eau fraîche directed by Isabelle Czajka . For Dear Antoine than no trouble at all , in which he took on the role of an innocent prisoner, Marmaï was finally nominated for a César as best actor in 2019.
