The Piz Tasna is a 3179.3 m high mountain peak in the Silvretta in the Swiss canton of Graubünden (municipality of Scuol ).
It is located at the northern end of a mostly north-south running mountain range between the Val Tasna in the west and Val Laver , a side valley of the Val Sinestra , in the east. The tip is a little southeast of the Swiss-Austrian border . To the south of the ridge are Piz Nair ( 2966 m ) and Piz Minschun ( 3068.2 m ). The Piz Tasna towers over the Engadine near Scuol by almost 2000 m. The Vadret da Tasna glacier , from which the Tasnan and other streams arise, extends on the northern flank .
The first ascent took place in 1849 by Johann Wilhelm Coaz .
One of the bases for an ascent is the Heidelberger Hut . From there you can walk or ski touring to the summit in about 5 hours.
