Pogoni ( Greek Πωγωνί , ( n. Sg. )) Is a municipality in the Greek region of Epirus . It was formed on January 1, 2011 from the amalgamation of today's municipal districts of four municipalities and two rural municipalities, the administrative seat is Kalpaki.
The villages each have their own story. Kefalovrisi is the largest of them, while Kalpaki is the main town and Delvinaki is the historical center with a history spanning over a thousand years. The history has been documented since 1081. Some of the villages were added to Albania before the First World War , even though the population was entirely Greek-speaking.

Pogoni borders on Konitsa and Albania to the north, Zagori to the east, Zitsa to the south and Filiates to the west .
Administrative division
The municipality of Pogoni was created after the administrative reform in 2010 from the merger of the four municipalities Kalpaki , Ano Kalamas , Ano Pogoni and Delvinaki and the two rural municipalities Lavdani and Pogoniani . Since then, these have formed the six municipal districts.

history
Before the Second World War , the Kefalovryso community alone owned over 40,000 sheep. Transhumance has been the rule for centuries. Almost every family had a herd. After the Second World War and as a result of the civil war, most of the residents emigrated.
