Pojezierze Starogardzkie (German translation about: Lake District from Preußisch Stargard ) is a mesoregion and lake landscape in the Pomeranian and Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeships , in Poland . The region is 1443 km² and up to 150 meters above sea level.
location
The lake district is located in northern Poland. It is part of the eastern Pomeranian Lake District on both sides of the Wierzyca River west of the glacial valley of the Vistula . The Kashubian Lake District connects to the north and west, the Vistula Delta and the Marienwerder Valley to the east and the Graudenzer Basin to the south .
geology
In the lake district there are a large number of lakes in a moraine landscape. Characteristic of this landscape are glacial channels between the hills, created by the erosive effect of the meltwater when the glaciers melted , which later took up the lakes.

Rivers
The area drains to the southeast via the Wierzyca and, to a lesser extent, to the northeast via the Motlawa into the Vistula . A small part of the lake district lies in the catchment area of the Wda .

The Lake District is lower than the Kashubian Lake District . The highest moraines are up to 150 meters above sea level.

In addition to the eponymous city of Starogard Gdański , other small towns such as Skarszewy and Pelplin are also located in the Lake District area.
