history

The founder and namesake of the village was the teacher Sebastian Finke from Ringelshain . Since he sided with the authorities during a peasant uprising in 1680, he was attacked by the rebels and almost died. Even after the unrest had been put down, he was no longer sure of his life and left Rynoltice. On August 20, 1683 Countess Benedikta von Bredau sold him a piece of forest, where he settled.
