Polina Viktorovna Kuznetsova , b. Wjachirewa ( Russian Полина Викторовна Кузнецова (Вяхирева) , English Polina Kuznetsova (née Vyakhireva) ; born June 10, 1987 in Schopokow , Kirghiz SSR , Soviet Union ) is a Russian handball player .

Career

Kuznetsova ran in the 2002/03 season for Akwa Volgograd and in the following season for GK Rostov-on-Don . From 2004, the outside player was under contract with GK Lada Tolyatti . With Lada, she won the Russian championship in 2005 and 2006. In February 2007, Kuznetsova moved to Zvezda Zvenigorod , with whom she won the Russian Championship in 2007, the Russian Cup in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2014, the EHF Cup in 2007 and the EHF Champions League in 2008. In 2014 she joined GK Astrakhanochka . With Astrakhanochka, she won the Russian championship in 2016. She then moved to GK Kuban Krasnodar . Kuznetsova joined the Macedonian first division club ŽRK Vardar SCBT in the summer of 2017 . With Vardar, she won the Macedonian Championship and the Macedonian Cup in 2018. Then she returned to GK Rostov-on-Don. With Rostov she won the Russian championship in 2019 and 2020.

Kuznetsova is a member of the Russian national team . With Russia, she won the World Cup in her own country in 2005 and in France in 2007 , and in 2007 she was also elected to the Allstar team. In 2006 in Sweden and in 2018 in France, she won the European runner-up. She won the gold medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . At the 2019 World Cup , she won the bronze medal with the Russian selection.

Private

Her younger sister Anna Vyachirewa also plays handball and is a member of the national team.
